Introduction to the HIC
The Hiroshima International Center was established with the objectives of regional internationalization, creating a comfortable living environment for foreigners, and promoting international exchange opportunities for the people of Hiroshima.
We provide administrative and daily life information, along with various services that promote international exchange, including consultations on daily living. Please donʼt hesitate to use our services.
HIC services
(1)Consultation services for foreigners
Hiroshima Foreigner Multilingual Comprehensive Consultation Service
The HIC provides the foreigner consultation service to support foreign residents in their daily lives, by offering help with issues which may occur from differences in language or customs.

(2)Interpretation support
Volunteer Medical Interpreters
We will dispatch medical interpreter volunteers to hospitals etc. so that foreign residents who are not proficient in Japanese can receive medical and health services with peace of mind.
Interpreter-guide, translator volunteers
We provide volunteers to support communication in various contexts through implementing international exchange programs and dispatching interpreter-guide volunteers, etc.
(3)Japanese language learning support
One-on-one Japanese Study
A program to facilitate international exchange by offering one-on-one Japanese study between foreign residents and volunteers.
(4)International exchange
Exchange Hall (Usage fee)
1.Purpose of use
Events whose objectives are to promote international exchange, cooperation, and understanding.
2.Conditions of use (project must correspond to one of the following)
a) Promotes international exchange
b) Increases international understanding
c) Promotes international cooperation
d) Contributes to internationalization
3.Usage hours
Monday – Friday: 10:00-18:30
Saturday: 9:30-17:30
Note:
Usage time also includes minimum 30 mins to prepare/clean the venue. The host will be responsible for preparing everything at the venue other than AV equipment.
4.Application period
Applications can be turned in up to two months before the reservation date.
Note: Projects carried out by the HIC take precedence.
5.Usage fees

Note 1: Include full payment when applying. Application fees will not be refunded in the event of cancellation.
Note 2: For profit events, usage fees are double the above rate.

Newspaper and magazine reading corner
You can freely browse Japanese reading materials as well as international newspapers and magazines in the open space at HIC. However, they cannot be borrowed.
